National fact sheets
With a view to gathering detailed information on each national probation systems, the project team decided to elaborate a questionnaire.
This questionnaire contains in particular the following questions:
- Type of judgements and probation decision entering into the scope of the Probation Framework Decision, their legal conditions as well as the competent authorities for taking such decision, supervising and in case of infringement;
- Type of probation measures and alternative sanctions existing in each Member State;
- Formalities;
- Existence of the possibility to use electronic monitoring.
It has been distributed on 14 April 2009 to the Member States by the General Secretariat of Council and on behalf of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The replies to this questionnaire are structured in an identical format for each Member State and are hereby included as national fact sheets.
